The heat wave continues in Agra. On Sunday, 8 people including foreign tourists who had come to see the Taj Mahal fainted due to the scorching heat and hot sun. Their blood pressure went out of control. They were immediately given first aid. Two tourists got injured after slipping. A child has a minor fracture in his neck and a female tourist has a minor fracture in her hand.
Long queues started forming since morning to see the Taj Mahal. As soon as the sun came straight above the head, people started feeling uneasy due to the heat. Unable to bear the scorching sun, Mona from Egypt, who was standing in the queue, fainted and fell down. The security personnel immediately took her to the dispensary built at the Taj Mahal. She became normal after being given medicines here.
Apart from these, Nengkhokim Lahungam from Manipur, Mafiben Mangalabai Patel from Gujarat, Pushpa Peter from Karnataka, Devika Goyal from Gujarat and UP Sagar and an 8-year-old girl also fell unconscious due to the heat.
An elderly man from Jharkhand, Yugeshwar Sahu, fainted and fell near the parking lot at the western gate. A nearby shopkeeper immediately laid him down and informed the health team. The medical team said that his condition deteriorated due to heat and hot winds. His blood pressure also dropped. He became normal after giving medicine.
The boy who went to drink water slipped
Salim Khan of Andhra Pradesh told that around 4 pm he went to drink water while visiting Taj Mahal. His 7 year old son Mohammad Ahil slipped near the railing and injured his neck bone. The team took him to a private hospital, gave him an injection and got an X-ray done. It was said to be a minor fracture. Sumitra Devi of Bihar also slipped from the stairs of Taj Mahal and injured her hand. Her dressing was done in the dispensary located in Taj Mahal itself. It is suspected to be a minor fracture.
